Carquest PCV Grommet The positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system is an emission control device designed to allow naturally occurring crankcase vapors to effectively enter the engine intake air system. Crankcase vapors will combine with the engine incoming air to enter the combustion chamber and safely burn during the combustion process.
